Website is Open

Okay, I have updated the I Saw Three Ships website, including rules that are updated for The Cookie Jar and to allow the requesting of additional persons in your collectives.

Timeline:

Friday, October 1: signups open
Saturday, October 29: Last day of signups
Tuesday, November 1: assignments sent out
Thursday, December 29: Stories due by 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time (UTC -5).
This is a hard and fast deadline, due to the seasonal nature of the project.
Thursday, January 5: Cookies due by 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time (UTC -5)
Friday, January 6 (Three Kings Day): stories posted
Friday, January 13: authors revealed

23 people have signed up so far, of whom 17 have offered to pinchhit. One thoroughly delightful and most appreciated Andrea has signed up just to pinchhit. Thank you, you are the best! Six people have tossed a prompt in the Cookie Jar, do join them.

Requests so far have been made in fandoms such as: The Social Network, The Big Bang Theory, Burn Notice, Sarah Jane Adventures, Degrassi TNG, Criminal Minds (I like the way you think!), and Final Fantasy XII.

Offers have been made in: NSYNC, Twilight, Chuck, Torchwood, Smallville, Warehouse 13, Sucker Punch (could be excellent fun!), Sports Night, Star Trek RPF, Star Trek Deep Space 9, Dexter, and Nobuta wo Produce.

Remember, comics fandom, non-English fandoms, RPF, and videogame fandoms, please pull your friends in so everyone is happily matched up.

I have not yet sent anyone a confirmation e-mail regarding their signup. I plan to do it tomorrow night.

Please spread the word far and wide about I Saw Three Ships! Go ahead and sign up today!

I'm not going to be signing up, but I am excited about the Cookie Jar and want to clarify a couple things. It's okay for me to leave prompts, even though I'm not signed up for the 3 Ships exchange, right? And, er, how many prompts would be considered polite to leave? (Because I could come up with lots and lots in a variety of fandoms, but I don't want to be annoying about it.)

I would be happy with 2-3 prompts - that should be a good, controllable number but provide a breadth of fandoms? (Maybe 'you can only leave two prompts if they are in different fandoms' restriction?)

Oh, seconding this! I have a lot of fandoms to choose from, and having to leave a prompt in only one of them (never mind narrowing down characters in that fandom!) was really hard. ^^

This sounds like an excellent compromise!

You might like to pimp this on the LJ community = pier56 ( http://pier56.livejournal.com/profile ). That's the home of a lot of Riptide fic and since the show has three main characters there is a lot of threesome fic written. *s*

I saw your announcement on [livejournal.com profile] sga_noticeboard & wanted to leave a prompt or 2, but was dismayed that the link to The Cookie Jar leads to AO3. Any chance of submitting prompts to LJ or DW, for those of us not on AO3?

(N.B.--"Cookie" is mispelled in the headings of the comm on AO3, in case you want to fix it.)
